Book Pulse

Terms of Use

Last updated October 6, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Stoat Digital LLC ("we", "us") for using the Book Pulse app and this website (together, "Book Pulse"). By creating an account or using Book Pulse, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Book Pulse.

1. Beta

Book Pulse is in beta. Features may change, break or be removed, and the app may be unavailable at times. We'll try hard not to lose your data, but please keep your own copy of anything important (Settings › Export your library helps).

2. Your account

3. Your content

"Your content" means what you add to Book Pulse: reviews, ratings, notes, quotes, discussions, messages, lists, tags, votes, profile details and so on.

4. Community rules

Book Pulse is for readers to share what they love. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You must not post or do anything that:

Mark spoilers where the app lets you, and be kind about books other people love.

Reporting and blocking

You can report any review, discussion, comment, quote, message, list, club, activity or profile from inside the app, and block anyone so you no longer see each other. We review reports and aim to act within 24 hours. We may remove content and warn, mute, suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these rules, with or without notice. If you think we made a mistake, email support@bookpulseapp.com.

5. Book information and AI insights

Book details come from public catalogs (such as OpenLibrary, Google Books, Inventaire and Audnexus) and from readers, and some moods, tropes and tags start as AI suggestions. This information can be incomplete or wrong, including content warnings, so don't rely on it alone. You can report mistakes from a book's page.

6. Imports from other services

Book Pulse can import your library from Goodreads, The StoryGraph and Hardcover. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by those services, or by any bookseller or publisher mentioned in the app. When you sign in to another service through the app, you're using that service under its own terms.

7. Book Pulse Premium

We respect authors' and publishers' rights. If you believe content on Book Pulse infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated copyright agent, by email with the subject "Copyright notice" or by post:

Copyright Agent, Stoat Digital LLC
25 1st Avenue Southwest, Ste A
Watertown, SD 57201, United States
Phone: (605) 250-8610
Email: copyright@bookpulseapp.com

Your notice must include:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
  3. where the infringing content is in Book Pulse (for example the book, user and a description or screenshot), detailed enough for us to find it;
  4. your name, address, phone number and email address;
  5. a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. We will end the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.

9. Our rights

Book Pulse, its design, code, name and logo belong to Stoat Digital LLC. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own non-commercial use under these terms. Don't copy, modify, resell or reverse-engineer it, except where the law allows. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Delete account (see Delete your account). We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Book Pulse; if we shut it down, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your library. Sections 5, 9, 11, 12 and 14 survive the end of your account.

11. Disclaimers

Book Pulse is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and uninterrupted availability, to the fullest extent the law allows. We aren't responsible for content posted by other members or for third-party services.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Stoat Digital LLC won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim about Book Pulse is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Book Pulse after that means you accept the new terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Dakota, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in the EU or UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring claims in your local courts.

15. If you got Book Pulse from the Apple App Store
