Delete your account
You can delete your Book Pulse account and its data at any time.
In the app
- Tap your profile picture to open the menu, then tap Settings.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.
Want to keep your reading history? Use Settings › Export your library first to save it as a CSV file.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app, email support@bookpulseapp.com with the subject "Delete my account", from the email address you signed up with. Include your username if you remember it. We'll confirm it's your account, delete it within 30 days, and email you when it's done.
Have Book Pulse Premium? Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it in Google Play (Play Store › your profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions) or on iPhone (Settings › your name › Subscriptions).
What gets deleted
- Your account, email address and sign-in details.
- Your profile, library, shelves, lists, reading sessions, goals, challenges and stats.
- Your ratings, reviews, notes, quotes, discussions, comments, messages, tags and votes.
- Your friends, follows, blocks, game results, and the clubs you own.
Database backups that still contain this data are replaced on a rolling basis and are gone within 30 days.
What stays
A few things stay, no longer linked to you:
- Books you added to the shared catalog.
- Roadmap suggestions you made.
- Moderation records about content that broke our rules.
- Purchase records the app stores and our subscription provider must keep for tax and accounting law.
- Diagnostic reports, which carry only a random account ID and are deleted within 90 days.
- Usage analytics, which carry only a random account ID and are deleted within 12 months.
Shared totals your votes and ratings fed into, such as a book's average rating, are recalculated without them.
